Now that I've vented....

I thought an update might be in order since I'm an old-timer and

don't visit here very often. I noticed my midline had shifted a

little a few months ago but thought my second round of braces could

probably fix it. NOW, my midline is off a whole 3 mm, and is now

causing me to have popping on the left side again (which disappeared

after surgery, 2 1/2 years ago). Now my surgeon is saying that

unless my ortho can fix it orthodontically, the only other way to

fix it will be another (less involved) surgery. Less involved or

not, my first go-round with surgery was so bad that I don't know if

I can put myself through it again even knowing that it would only be

a one-jaw surgery this time. I have time to think about it tho,

since even if I opted for the surgery, he says I should wait until I

have my braces off. (Got the clear ones this time) :) So my surgeon

and my ortho work very closely together and I'm now wearing a band

at night that goes from the top left to the bottom right to tweak my

jaw to the left. And lord is it working. I can SO feel it when I

wake up. Supposedly I should start seeing some improvement in about

3 weeks. It's only been 2 days so far, and I'm really hating this

cross-wise rubber band. Thankfully, I'm asleep for the majority of

the time I have to wear it.

So that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.....lol
