Guest guest Posted January 12, 2004 Report Share Posted January 12, 2004 I'm going in for my surgery tomorrow. Upper jaw -- gummy smile and open bite and advancing the chin. I was lucky that I didn't need braces before (I had them years ago) but just got them on today. What a wierd feeling -- the coloured elastics are fun though. This website has been a great help. At first I thought that I didn't want to know too much about the surgery because I would freak myself out, but many of the hints have been great. I have no idea how long I'll be wired or on liquid diet, I guess I'll find out as I go along. I have surgery on the 13th and my post-surgery appoitment with my surgeon is scheduled for the 21st. So maybe the wires come off then. Anyway, I just wanted to post for the first time to get into the loop.
