Guest guest
Hi , About a month ago i went to my ortho, concerned re: jaw pain, shoulder and neck pain all on the left side. Turns out it was just muscular and not an infection in the plates. I used a hot water bottle, ibruprofen, paracetamol. It seems to have helped. I also did some yoga style stretching to try to loosen up the muscles. You might find you need a good massage, good luck Annie In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " Fulghum " wrote: > Hi. Guest guest
Hi , Annie's suggestions are good. I have pain in that area too, as a matter of fact, today it's quite painful. I was doing something that my body isn't used to, and that's why it barked back at me. I do regular yoga practice, but it's not enough for my particular lifestyle, so I also see a massage therapist and chiropractor. I see a massage therapist about once a month now, she's good at untie- ing these kinds of muscular knots, although it's painful to untie them. I'm particularly good at creating them, with all the time I spend at a computer (all day, during lunchhour, some at home at night too). If that's the case for you, you might want to look at how your computer is set up, keyboard and monitor height are critical, as well as how far you have to reach for the mouse. There's a nerve that runs down the side of the neck, through the collarbone area and down the arms to the wrist area. My therapist gave me special exercises to do to stretch these areas, but I haven't been doing them regularly, and I'm starting to feel sore again. If you do see a therapist, ask about some simple exercises you can do for yourself. Hope you find something that helps. > Hi. Guest guest
It could, in fact, be a jaw-related problem. See the posts from Fiddly, for example. Yep, I'd see a doc and ask about PT, or massage or sacro-cranial therapy (he may look at you oddly about the last, but nevermind that). In any case, if you have pain, that means you have something, somewhere not working properly for you. I hope you can find help for it. Cammie. > Hi.
