Guest guest
Hi everyone, I went in for surgery (upper and lower) on wednesday. I was lucky enough to come home on friday and am so far doin as well as can be expected. Fortunately i am not wired although i have been banded. Swelling and pain are much worse than i imagined and i have not yet had the confidence to look in the mirror. i dribbled really badly for the first couple of days but this seems to be stopping. The brusing is coming out a lot worse today but i am takin that as a good sign. I am on regular pain killers such as paracetomol which seem to be help easin the pain. So far i have managed to get through about 6 glasses of chocolate milkshake and even had a small amount of mash potato although that was very hard work. still lets hope it gets easier from here. i have an appointment to see a doctor tomorrow to just check everythin is oin ok. my surgeon was really nice and said everythin went fantastic. the surgeon who was meant to be doin it was unfortunately taken seriously ill 2 days before but his replacement seemed to know what he was doin. can i just ask all post-oppers how many weeks was it before you face looked relatively normal and u could look in the mirror with confidence. any other advice from anyone about gettin through this would b gratefully appreciated. love 2 ya all stacey (uk)
