Guest guest
Hi everyone, i know i haven't been around much but i thought i'd update you on my progress. Everything is going well, my open bite is now closed after upper jaw surgery on Oct 1st 2003. I can eat virtually anything at present which is great. My Tmj headaches have been greatly reduced. My teeth are really straight and both my ortho and surgeon are really happy with them. The best news is that i'm getting my braces off next Thursday which i'm really excited about. I can't believe its now two years since i began this journey. I have no regrets, glad i had the courage to go through with it all even though believe me i had my doubts, fears and anxiety. Initially i dreaded the braces and then finally after the initial discomfort they just became part of me and i and others barely noticed them. Then nearer the time of the surgery i was plagued with anxiety, nightmares and constant dread about the whole thing. Well my fears were unfounded as the whole thing went pretty smoothly. Yes it was difficult for the first few weeks post op but i had the support of this group, the suport of my fiance and the determination to see it through. To anyone who is about to go through surgery right now, i wish you all the best and hope that someday you will feel as positive about it as i do. I'm so grateful to my ortho and surgeon for the great work they did. I could rattle on for hours but i won't:) Take care, Annie
