Hi there!

I have an appointment with Dr. Newton Gordon in San Francisco and

would like to know if anyone has any experience with him? He's the

Chief of Dentistry at UCSF and has amazing credentials but I've never

heard his name mentioned on this site.

Also, I've noticied a few people mention that they have external

incisions after lower jaw surgery. I've read online that they have to

make those in order to tighten the screws. Does everyone have them?

Thanks!

Sue

I dunno about everybody. I had them. My surgeon uses them on BSSO

surgery to insert the screws, through a trochar, so he can get the

angle he needs. They are nothing. I've had kitchen burns that were

way bigger deals -- and we won't talk about a couple of gashes I got

on fingers when a crystal glass shattered while I was washing it.

Seriously, these are nothing, at least the way my guy did them. Three

tiny stitches on each side, came out in a week, no scars, no trouble,

no nothing.

Don't know anything about Dr. Gordon; sorry. Usually good reps and

credentials mean good and caring docs, though, I think.
