Guest guest
Hi all! A girlfriend of mine had both upper and lower jaw surgery earlier this summer. Six weeks before she was scheduled to have her braces removed, her orthodontist sent her to have her gums snipped (some procedure to help maintain dental stability?) -- has anyone else heard of this/had this done? I had my surgery nearly 7 weeks ago and I'd like to know if I should start researching this procedure as well. My girlfriend wasn't particularly fond of it (poor thing, I don't blame her!) but if it'll keep my teeth straight, I'll do it! Looking forward to hearing from you all! Guest guest
Ask your surgeon. I will tell you that I had an awful perio, and now have a wonderful perio. The difference between the two is amazing. Talk with everyone you know about such things, and try to find out from your friends and from your dentists who's good and who's not so good. The lady I see now used to teach at the leading school in my state. She's as gentle as a lamb, and honest-- if she told me she had to take out all my teeth, soak 'em and put 'em back in, I'd trust her. I wouldn't trust the previous creeps to look in my mouth. That's what makes the biggest difference, I think. Cammie > Hi all! > > A girlfriend of mine had both upper and lower jaw surgery earlier > this summer.
