Hi minna,

I don't know if my experiences with this are " helpful " or not--

I sometimes listen to the same song over and over. More, I

will SING the same song over and over. I think it can be a

kind of " stim " for me, since it kind of blocks out social

things and interacting and all that. I've done it since I

was a young kid. I may have started doing it when I went to

a new school and didn't know how to " get along " or make

friends=== I remember walking around singing to myself a lot.

(I don't know if I did it before that or not.) Anyway, the

part with repeating the SAME song is that it will be a song

that seems important or meaningful to me and I'll just go

over it again and again=== sometimes just one particular

PART. I have to be careful though, as if I do this " too

much " then I can accidentally " over do it " and the result

is that I will " ruin " the song so that it is boring in the

future! Like I said, I don't know if this adds anything

new to what you have already said or already thinking.

best,

Moria

Sometimes this happens to me when I try to understand something... something

that I KNOW is there, but I can't put my finger on it, so to speak. And I keep

trying and trying until I get really aggravated and feel like screaming and

throwing away anything I happen to have in my hand :)

Maybe he's just trying to understand something better.
