Hi Everyone,

I've posted on this site in the past. It's been years since I posted

last. I'll try to give you a brief, point form story.....

-Got my braces on Febuary 2000, I had no intention of having any

surgery done when I first got the braces.

-December 2000, My ortho thought I should consider it.

-February 2001, saw the surgeon for the first time, said I would

need more orhto work done.

-Surgery scheduled for December 2001, teeth were not ready. Ortho

cancelled and moved surgery to late January 2002.

-Teeth were not improper alignment for the surgery, surgery

cancelled by surgeon.

-Had two per molars removed from my upper teeth in February 2002 by

the surgeon.

-Went through orthodontics.... was only supposed to take 9 - 12

months...

-Saw surgeon in June 2003, teeth were almost together, 16 months

after two teeth were pulled. Still needed more time. Surgery

booked for December 2003.

-October 2003, surgeon had to cancel surgery in december because he

was off to vietnam to do surgeries there for the week of my surgery.

-Surgery moved to March 8th, 2004. Saw surgeon in December 2003.

Plans to do upper surgery, moving the jaw as much forward as he

possibly can. He might have to move the lower back but he will be

taking bone from the lower jaw for the upper regardless. Possible

surgery at a later date to build up my mid-face with some type of

bone graft.

In total.... it will be over 4 years of braces before the surgery.

It just doesn't seem like this is ever going to end. I sure hope I

get the surgery in March after it has been cancelled/postponed so

many times.

Here's a question that I hope someone can answer for me.... I work

in a call center 10 hours a day, 4 days a weeks. Does anyone have

any idea how long I might be off for? My surgeon is very optimistic

and thinks I will be back in 2 weeks..... anyone have opinions?

Thanks,
