jaw augmentation

Hey All!

Hope someone out there can help. I went to OS today for 6 mos post

op check up (all is good) do have lingering nerve numbness/tingling

but he seemed to be positive about recovering more as I do have

feelings in lip/chin.

We discussed options for correcting the inbalance of my jaws as

result of my surgery (right jaw larger than left now). My two

options was either shaving the larger one or putting implant in

smaller one. He still wants to wait 1 yr post op before we even

consider it (fine with me). Either procedure would be done in his

office and I would not have to go under general anethesia and he

said it would not further affect my nerves. Question is has anyone

run into this problem? If so, what did you do (if anything?).

I feel like I'm a glutton for punishment to even consider this. I'm

very happy with results of my surgery, but I just feel that after

all I've been through, I would like a little more symmetrical face!

I get a little disappointed when I think about having more surgery

(and this one is abolutely unecessary). The difference is slight

and people don't notice until I point out (or so they say). Then

they think it's just that one side is more swollen than the other.

Opinions? We'll see how I feel at my 1 yr anniversary. I'm not

distraught over this, but just torn as to what I want to do.

Thanks for listening!

Carol
