Hi everyone, jut checking in to see that your all ok and doing

well. welcome to all you new comers, good luck for up coming

surgeries and newly post oppers!!! hope everyone from when i joined

are doing well!

a receap for the newbies.

my name is Kat im nearly 19 now and from the UK. i have been having

orthodintic treatment since i was 12 for a class III underbite. as

hard as it is for me to beleive i am almost 2 years post op now,

from having both upper and lower jaw suregery, i also had a RPE

(rapid paletal expansion) and sinus work during surgery. i had my

wisdom teeth surgically removed 3 months before my jaw surgery. for

my jaw surgery i was in hospital 5 days on a morphene drip where i

lost a stone in weight. i was tightly banded shut, on a liquid diet

for about 6 weeks, the mushy food diet for the following 3months or

so. now almost two years on i have to wear a upper&lower reatiner

just overnight, i was told until i am 30, which i dont mind if it

keeps what i have achieved at bay. i also was the first one of my

surgeons patients to be almost the guniea pig, using dissolveable

paltes and screws, so far no problems and dissolving well.

as for regrets i have none, and would do this surgery again if i

needed to. having the surgery is the best thing i have ever done,

and to tell you the truth the pain was minimal, almost un-

noticeable. since i have developed in self confidence and belief

and am so happy! i wouldnt change it for the world-just selling the

operation to all you new comers there. but seriously if it wasnt for

the surgery i wouldnt be where i am today-university, as i wouldnt

say boo to a goose, was lacking confidence and just didnt care,

which is why i hardly get chance to visit this site anymore as at

uni my life is so mad, it doesnt stop, but i love it none the less!

go for it if you feel in your self that its right! I ACHIEVED 200%
