Tenderness of screws/removal of screws

hi-

Im almost 8 months post-op now and areas along my jaw line where

the screws/plates are, are really tender. I play basketball and so

there have been quite a few times where i'll barely get hit in one

of those areas and it hurts so bad. I was just wondering if it was

like that for the rest of you post-op's out there. I am thinking of

getting the screws removed because i don't like how tender they are,

and also how lumpy my jaw line feels when i run my fingers down it.

Have any of you gotten your screws removed? If so, what was that

like?? (Procedure, recovery, etc.)??
