Guest guest
Wow - I can't believe you are trying to eat hard things so soon! I was given the ok to chew at 3 months and 1 week - I am currently on a soft food diet until about 6 months or so. I wouldn't want to even try to chew because half of the inside of my mouth is still numb and I don't feel stable enough yet. Just be careful. > Hi everybody. Guest guest
Peanuts??? I must be the only one whose orthodontist told them not to eat ANY nuts while in braces! :-) LOL Just the thought of peanuts, Fritos, and caramel.....mmmmmmm...... Dammit > > Hi everybody. Guest guest
You are not alone. And all during my 20 months in braces, it was a celebratory ritual on Friday afternoons in the newsroom where I worked for everybody to chip in some money, then send one or two folks to a nearby peanut shop to get fresh-roasted peanuts in the shell, and popcorn. Sigh. Now we are in a building further away from the shop, and that Friday ritual happens less frequently. > Peanuts??? Guest guest
< > No, popcorn. The only food I have terribly and consistanly missed since getting braces is popcorn. (Although I admit I've had it a couple times at the movies - you can't go to the movies and merely smell the popcorn.)

Guest guest
Hey dammit - Nope, you're not the only one. My ortho told me no nuts either while in braces. Sweetsemita - I had my upper/lower surgery in October, also, and I can't even fathom eating anything hard or chewy at this point. I'm having trouble enough trying to chew anything! And, yes, my ortho and OS seem to think I'm doing great. Smooches Re: 3 mos post-op - Hard to chew peanuts Peanuts???
