Dear ,

Another site I'm on (graduates, where you've had surgery at least a year ago

in order to post there, and a lot of them are very far out), recommends the

protein shakes -- 4-5 per day for 4 days. They call it the " protein feast "

because it breaks all cravings and plateaus and your energy soars through

the roof, but I would imagine that straight protein (in the foods that you

mentioned) should work just as well... Let me know how you do, okay?

Hi, Maybe you guys can answer this for me. Randy is "spilling protien", however his A1C is fine, did this happen to any of you? UCLA says he will need 100 grams of protien post op, wow, if he is spilling now, what will happen than? Does this change post op ? I'll ask at the meeting Thursday, but I was wondering now. Thanks a bunch!

Have you asked your doctor? Either ask his primary care doctor or the

surgeon.

The only thing I could guess is that maybe he's consuming a form of

protein that he can't absorb as well. I really don't know.

Have you asked your doctor? Either ask his primary care doctor or the

The only thing I could guess is that maybe he's consuming a form of

protein that he can't absorb as well. I really don't know.

Robynn,

I do not replace my meals with the Pro Complex. I just make sure that my

breakfast and lunch are primarily from protein sources and small quantities.

of sugar free syrups from vitalady to add a variety to it!!

I do not replace my meals with the Pro Complex. I just make sure that my

breakfast and lunch are primarily from protein sources and small quantities.

Well, this is typically what I do on a daily basis:

~ 30 gm Protein shake (Pro Complex)

1/2 c. egg beaters with 1 T shredded cheese

~ 30 gm Protein Shake (Pro Complex)

1/4 c refried beans with 1 T shredded cheese in a low carb tortilla

1 bottle IsoPure Zero carb Drink (~40 gm Protein)

2 oz shrimp or grilled chicken with cocktail or BBQ sauce

I tend to do better if I follow the same thing for awhile and then change to

something else.

I hope this helps. Sometimes I add in extra carbs at my meals like some

fruit or starch.

Thanks. So, you basically eat six times a day? Where did you have your surgery? Richmond is really strict on the three times a day only, no snacks...and yet, that is so different from what most nutritionists suggest...it is a bit confusing to me.

Robynn,Well, this is typically what I do on a daily basis:~ 30 gm Protein shake (Pro Complex)1/2 c. egg beaters with 1 T shredded cheese ~ 30 gm Protein Shake (Pro Complex)1/4 c refried beans with 1 T shredded cheese in a low carb tortilla 1 bottle IsoPure Zero carb Drink (~40 gm Protein)2 oz shrimp or grilled chicken with cocktail or BBQ sauceI tend to do better if I follow the same thing for awhile and then change tosomething else.I hope this helps. Thanks. So, you basically eat six times a day? Where did you have your surgery? Richmond is really strict on the three times a day only, no snacks...and yet, that is so different from what most nutritionists suggest...it is a bit confusing to me.

Oh, I didn't mean that You confused me...I meant that the advice from Richmond, which seems to contradict current thinking about small meals six times a day, confused me. (for purposes of this discussion, I consider the shakes a small meal, rather than a snack.)

I know quite a few people who developed reactive hypoglycemia. If they

only ate three times a day, they'd probably end up in the hospital!
