hi there...i have been checking out this board the past few months,

as i am scheduled for upper/lower on feb 11th. (i'm pretty

terrified, by the way). i am wondering... my surgeon is putting in

plates...and says it is only a SLIM, SLIM possibility that i will

need to be wired....my question is... do having plates alleviate the

need for wiring in most cases? do people who are wired for weeks on

end not have plates? thx for your help...i'm sure i will have more

concerns in the coming weeks....thank god for this board! hilary
