Guest guest
Hi, Does anyone know whether either of the two Houstini enzymes (or both) will help with msg? My 13 yr old AS son has been given quite a few sweets containing gelatine and ate a handful last night. Within two hours he was in agony with a terrible headache. This is his msg reaction but he so wants to treat himself to something over Christmas. He is totally GF/CF. When we tried the peptizide a month or so ago, he had terrible stomach cramps. ( maybe I need to try him on a tiny dose to start with) Thanks Jacqui Re: [ ] Re: MSM [Michele] > Hi , > > I do have the report on magnesium. Guest guest
Jacqui, As far as I know, MSG is manufactured and not a naturally occuring substance, so my guess is the enzymes might help a little, but I wouldn't expect them to help as much as with food proteins. I don't recall anyone on the board here testing it with MSG. Let us know how your son does if you try the smaller dose. You could start with a very tiny amount and gradually build up (one parent added 1/16th of a capsule every few days). Starting with the ZP first, then add the Pep later might work out better, too, as some have reported. > Hi, > Does anyone know whether either of the two Houstini enzymes (or both) will > help with msg? > My 13 yr old AS son has been given quite a few sweets containing gelatine > and ate a handful last night.
