Guest guest
hi, i have another question -- i had my surgery on the 22nd - monday will be a week -- even though i'm still just on clear liquid and my protein drinks shouldn't i feel different -- do any of you get a full feeling? so far i haven't had that -- the only thing different is i get the indigestion pain when i have to burp - i'm scared to over do it --- and no BM yet......i don't want to happen to me like with my c-section -- although i was eating reg meals but it took about 2 weeks to have a BM even though i was taking stool softener & laxative -- i had what they call an impaction - basically a very large hard as a rock poo-poo stuck -- i thought i would die on the toilet and almost called 911 and would have if it hadn't been so embarrassing - i finally was able to get done with that to have diarrhea after - so the meds were working and just blocked. i'm thinking with only liquids it shouldn't be that difficult - so i want to hear BM stories (LOL) and sorry if that was TMI -- as a nurse there is no topic i won't talk about visit our website www.geocities.com/tanyarn96/countryside.html www.poncetihomes.com
Guest guest
my uncle called tonight tto check on me - he had this done 4 yrs ago and was 500-600 lbs with a 68 " waist - today he is 207 lbs and still losing. all his health problems are gone....i told him about drinking all day and not knowing if its possible to drink too much and that i haven't had that full feeling and he said when i start burping that means i drank too much -- when i'm on a reg diet he said its easier to tell b/c it will make you sick and miserable. i have had burping occassionally and its painful but ok after its out - and i'm passing gas which is good - no BM yet but he said it took him a week and not to be scared b/c it will be black and stink big time - the smell of blood is BAD.... with the stool sample they are checking for blood and probably parasites or bacteria that would cause bloody stool. is the blood red? i was told that issn't good - i would probably back up my diet to liquid or soft until they see what is wrong -- have you had a blood test - CBC to see any changes there? visit our website www.geocities.com/tanyarn96/countryside.html www.poncetihomes.com -- Re: another question , I am 8 weeks out and still dont get a " full " feeling. It is more of a satisfied feeling or i just stop because i have over done it by a bite or two in the past and got sick. It is very different than before surgery. About the BM stories...lol I did have a bowel movement before i left the hospital. Did you do a bowel prep?? I did that fleet soda stuff ohhh myyyy ggggggg talk about clean as a whistle..lol. The movements were soft. I passed a lot of mucus as i was healing. Since you are a nurse, maybe you have some insite... or maybe you did tell me already. They are having me do the stool sample testing. They are also checking for all the hepetitus too. I am having blood in my bowels and alot of mucus again. They are not sure the cause since i am eating, drinking and have no pain. Please feel free to ask anything. My memories of early post op are fading and your questions keep my memory sharp Best wishes and keep up the good work!! Guest guest
i ddon't know if they do TT on men or not - but when a yeast infection is on a man they call it athletes foot or jock itch (LOL) -- i would think any skin fold that holds moisture would cause some sort of infection or rash -- mine stays wet all the time....unfortunately. visit our website www.geocities.com/tanyarn96/countryside.html www.poncetihomes.com -- Re: another question > hi, glad i could help....and he did not exercize at all -- I can't wait until I can get back on my bicycle. I used to ride 19 miles a day (to work and back) before a couple of injuries sidelined me. My knees are shot, so walking is out, but I will need something to reduce my pannicula. Speaking of which... he brought up a tummy tuck > and told me they do the surgery here for free if you donate the skin to the > burn center but he said he hears its extremely painful That, unfortunately, is an urban legend. You can look it up at www.snopes com. That issue came up recently in one of these groups and was discounted for several reasons. But I was wondering--and was just about to ask here anyway--what kind of medical rationale can a doctor give to make the " tummy tuck " medically necessary for men? With women, there is a high incidence of yeast infection, so removing the skin is very important. What reason could convince Medicare to allow that sort of surgery? (Anyone who is reading this, please feel free to answer.) > he was telling me that later i can still have cheesecake or whatever and i > said no b/c i really don't want to start bad eating habits - i have started > over and i hope it will help me have control. That's the best idea! I want to leave my old habits behind, too. Knock on wood. : ) > i'm so glad you will be having your surgery by the end of the year - heres > to a new us. Indeed! Guest guest
Hi. My surgery was this past Wednesday. I'm still on broth and jello and am burping a lot too. It doesn't hurt to burp, just uncomfortable. I don't drink much broth or eat much jello, but I still burp. And when I constantly sip the water, I burp then too. Anxious and worried about going to solid food. I know then the problems might start. I guess I just have to be extra good. Guest guest
hi, i forgot to mention about burping - i was told not to use a straw that you get a bunch of air and someone recommended if you find yourself drinking to much get a childs sippy cup -- i haven't done that yet -- i just take slow sips and swallow slow and had no problem - i was burping a lot and it was uncomfortable - i could feel it working its way up - strange - but after my uncle told me that is a sign you drank too much i backed off a little and the problem is gone. visit our website www.geocities.com/tanyarn96/countryside.html www.poncetihomes.com -- Re: another question Hi. Guest guest
If you could send me Dr. Poinsetti's e- > mail so that I may e-mail him some pictures. Thanks in advance for > your help. Oh, by the way our daughter is 2 years old now, not sure > if that will make any difference. Here is Dr Ponseti's website. Go to contact Dr Ponseti for his e- mail address. Dr Ponseti's site: http://www.vh.org/pediatric/patient/orthopaedics/clubfeet/index.html My DD is 9 months old and her feet look totally normal except for a slight inward curve at her toes. Dr Ponseti has told us that this will require her to be in the bar for the 16-18 hour time period a little longer then the normal protacol. Guest guest
I have 58 messages here so I bet this has been answered but I'll add my two cents. My son's " Corrected " feet do NOT look " Normal " . Oh he's got a great correction! But corrected cf do not come out looking like normally formed baby feet in these early months/years, if ever, I'm not sure about that. Everett still has a lot of extra skin over the top where the leg starts, over around his ankle. The feet are smaller than typical, boxier. My older cf boy who didn't have Ponseti treatment - his feet are like bricks. Little fat, square bricks. He almost can't stretch a sock over his foot the instep is so high and the foot is so short. Don't know if this helps you or not. s. Another Question I had asked about the Markell vs. shoes and the DBB and the sleeping situation. While answering the Markell vs. shoe question a lot of you recommended that I should contact Dr. Poinsetti in regards to Jordan's feet. I had mentioned that Dr. Westberry had said that she may have to have the tendon transfer because she walks still on the outside of her feet and her toes still curve in. Her progress has been good. Her feet have corrected nicely and I feel like the toes curving in maybe fine. Could someone whos child's feet are corrected please tell me if they look like a normal foot or if they would never look completely corrected. I have been very concerned about putting her thru extra trama (by surgery) on her feet when she doesn't need it or could be corrected by something else. If you could send me Dr. Poinsetti's e- mail so that I may e-mail him some pictures. Thanks in advance for your help. Guest guest
S, Sorry to laugh but when you described your older sons feet you decribed " my feet " . I too was corrected with surgery. I call them Fred Flintstone Feet. LOL...Obvious I can't wear just any shoes due to the high instep. On my L foot they did surgery at 14yrs old to lower it. I never let them touch my R after that. My L foot is extremly unstable. Talk about small feet...when I got married I was a size 4 (shoe that is)LOL, now after two kids I am finally a 5 1/2.
