Guest guest
But Sharon -- How is his hair transplant??? Ok. I'm a creep. If I liked or loved him (bald guys take notice!!!) I wouldn't give a hoot... Bald can be sexy, too! Cammie > > Gil, > My OS assigned my jaw exercised using tongue depressors this week. I can fit 12 stacked tongue depressors in my mouth and am supposed to wiggle them up and down putting a little pressure on my jaws to expand, but not to the point of pain. I started out with 10 tongue depressors and am up to 12. He said 3-4 days before trying to add another one. I'm supposed to do this 25 times a day for about 10 seconds each time. However, I went to my Ortho today and told him that the OS put me on the tongue depressor exercises. My Ortho laughed...seriously laughed...and said " I don't think it works, but knock yourself out! " SO I asked him how you start opening wider then if the exercises don't work. He said time and patience...the scar tissue will tear down if you just keep doing what you normally do. This means an increas in talking, an increase in eating, etc. as you continue to recover. So...go figure! Personally, I'm sticking with the tongue depressor exercise. It might not help, but it can't hurt. > Sharon

Guest guest
Thanx, . So how's splint freedom? By the way, happy birthday (5 weeks post-op birthday, that is) today. I know it's only been one day, but is the chewing any better? Are you on a soft chew diet or did you get clearance to eat whatever you feel comfortable eating? Oh, and speaking of sexy bald heads...Yul Brynner was once the sexiest bald man I'd ever seen - that was before my Fweetie, of course. I used to watch " Major Dad " who, by the way, was played by Gerald McRaney. Loved that show for some reason...must have been the bald head. :-) Happy holidays. Guest guest
Smooches:) I feel bad telling you this but, I had a hamburger and salad for dinner last night. I had to cut the hamburger into many piece but it Tasted sooo good:) I also minced the onion and pickle, so I really didn't have to chew hard things. Technically I am still on a soft diet, for another 2 weeks. ( I consider last night dinner a soft diet:):) I go see my ortho this morning, and I get the wires replaced. My upper wire was cut during surgery to do the segmental, so my teeth this morning have already moved out of alignment. I am going to ask if he still thinks that it is going to be 9 months of ortho left. I hope not. But if so, I can deal with it:):) After all the hard part is done:):) OH YA!!!!!!!!! Just think Smooches, not even 24 hours till your free and clear as well:):) OH, YA BABY:):) Are you still thinking about going to burger king???? Tell me all about it tomorrow. I want to hear all the details:):) Ps: Thanks for the happy birthday greeting, that was nice to read:) Oh, Major Dad. My family watched it every night that it was on. It was a great family show:) And your right..... it must have been the bald head. Sexy:):) -- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " johnetta myers " wrote: > > Thanx, . So how's splint freedom? Guest guest
Thanx, . But there's no need to feel bad about telling me you're still soft chewing. Because of you (and others on this site), I no longer have the " illusion " that I would be eating regularly by tomorrow and I REALLY appreciate that. I can imagine the disappointment I would have felt tomorrow with that expectation. So thank you all so much for that. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow.
