Guest guest
Hey Smooches, I get my braces off this summer, too. (6months postop) but I don't have any bands in my mouth. My orthodontist took a look and said, nope don't need them. (which is a good thing because I had no idea that was even a possibility!) Funny thing, to go from Don't chew, Don't open to absolute freedom with my jaw. I'm in physical therapy right now though because my opening is so limited. Well, not that limited, I'm sitting here eating snickerdoodles while I write this! By the way, I also do the same thing in the car! I keep moving the rear view mirror down so I can stare at my teeth when I hit red lights! Whoo hoo! It's such a great feeling! And I sure envy you Florida. I'm freezing my teeth off here in NM right now! Alix-- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " johnetta myers " wrote: > Boy Alix...do I know THAT feeling!! Believe it or not, it's been 7 weeks since I got my splint out and I'm still grinning in the mirror. I can't even put my car in " drive " without looking at my teeth first. I've NEVER had straight teeth before and I'm just in awe of the work my OS and Ortho have done...of course, so are they. LOL! So many, many congratulations to you...this is just another BIG step closer to " freedom " ! Any mention on when you will be released from your " chains " completely? My ortho says I should be free by this summer, but I'm hoping to be done a lot sooner than that...oooh, that reminds me...better go put my bands back in. :-} > > CONGRATULATIONS also on the new house. I know that feeling too. We had our house built in Florida (I'm from California) and closed on 28 May 2002 - I'm still grinning about that, too. For some reason, over 18 months later, the elation of owning my own home still has not worn off. :-) My Fweetie and I like to just sit in the front room and grin at each other.
