Guest guest
Hey all, funny but it just seems like yesterday I was typing all my fears about going into this surgery. And today was such a wonderful day! I arrived at my os's office READY to have this thing out! Everyone was so supportive and happy for me at the office. I'm pretty fond of my os so we had a few laughs, he plopped me in a chair, promised me it wouldn't hurt and snip- it was out! The freedom in my jaw and mouth was overwhelming, I just sat really still for a minute taking it all in. Then I said something and a nurse said, WOW, I understood you!! I brushed the heck out of my palate, talked about diet, (no restrictions) and also had an xray. My os said everything was as close to perfect as he could dream, and I can't stop looking at my BITE! I had an open one previously and now my teeth just fit right with each other. I have no idea how to chew, I tried tonight and food kept falling out of my mouth. But my os said that will take a few weeks. I'm just excited, I feel really really great. (I also bought a house today, had the final walkthrough 30 minutes after my splint came out! Crazy day...) Anyhow, Thank you to all of you who gave so much support during these last 6 weeks. Right now, I just can't stop smiling. Pete and , (Aileen?) I know you get yours out this week too, it's a GREAT feeling. Alix
