Hi All

I am 5 days post op and I thought I would share my surgery experiance.

I was admitted on Tuesday for upper & lower jaw surgery. (Lower

rotated and moved fowards and upper leveled off to correct

asymetrical cant )

The surgery itself was no problem (about 5 hours)and i came round

from the anesthetic very quickly and was moved into the high

dependency unit for one night.

I spent 4 days in hospital and was released friday morning - And the

care i recieved at the hospital was excellent.

I have a numb chin and a lot of swelling and bruising and look like a

chipmunk (but on the whole I can see what the new look will be and I

like it aleady)

I am not wired and can open a little so am on soup etc ( not that I

feel like eating)- I will be getting my bands on tomorrow

Today is the first day I have started to feel better but I am still

having trouble sleeping any advice on sleeping ?????

another thing - any advice on how to get rid on this gunk in my

throat as It feels really clogged up

I have already lost 7 Lbs in weight so I am trying to get some food

in me - But I now understand what people said when they described the

complete loss of appetite

All in all it is tougher (pain wise) than I thought it would be and

just taking the constant medication (I hate those liquid antibiotics)

Any advice would be appreciated

regards
