Isn't MSM supposed to be for helping to build tissue. I really don't know please educate me. I am a health teacher and read up about nutrition all the time. I know for a fact that supplements such as Spurilina and Chorella have a very high protein content. Higher than meat. It does give you tremendous energy and much needed protein in aiding in the healing process. To say Supreme Greens is a waste of money maybe unfair. I can tell you from my own experience I have been on those supplements for years and everyone thinks I am much younger than my age of 40. I agree that you should be eating good old fashioned vegetables. We should never look for the supplements to take the place of eating well. Obviously when ur wired u can only juice those vegetables. My Dr. is very happy with how fast I am recovering,I really think those supplements have something to do with it. I agee with u about blending pasta dishes. U really do that carb boost when ur wired. Yogurt is good but dairy products cd cause congestion Bottom line I agree with most of what ur saying but, I guess I had a problem with u putting down green supplements. Guest guest
MSM is also anti inflamatory which is why I thought it would be a good SUPPLEMENT. By no means do I mean to replace meals with it but it can provide extra nutrition in addition to what you can eat on a liquid diet. I feel great since I started taking it and I've mentioned it to my OS and he has no objections. Is there something that I don't know about this product that could be harmful after surgery? If so I would be grateful if you shared it with me. Thanks Marsha > > Re Supreme Greens, > > > > This product has MSM in it and is not recommended immediately prior > > to or after surgery. Guest guest
This particular artical does not specifically address the dangers of MSM use before or after surgery. I have to do some research to locate the source of that information. It does, however, implicate several of the herbs that are included in Supreme Greens' ingredients such as Echinacea (can actually impair wound healing) and Garlic (increased risk of bleeding). http://unisci.com/stories/20013/0711015.htm I do remember my surgeon telling me to discontinue taking MSM/Glucosamine 2 weeks prior to surgery, but of course some surgeons are more conservative than others and I would never go against what a doctor has told you to take or not take. Best of luck with your surgery, Cheryl
