Hi!

You seem to be doing fine... I'm glad! :)

Doing pretty well thank you. I manage to eat properly, thanks to my

mom who wouldn't have it otherwise. :D I'm mixing my soups with

chicken or veal baby purree, it's actually pretty good and fills you

up.

My swelling is still going down. I still have purple bruises along

the chin and neck. But I think they're smaller than two days ago. I

wake up about once a night, to remind me to get the painkillers

quick... The breathing is all right. I'm usually congested in the

morning and then it goes away slowly.

Yesterday I went on a hike to my pharmacist... a good 15 minutes

walking in the snow and cold... The air was good though. I asked the

lady for liquid analgesic and decongestant. She gave me children's

Motrin and Dimetapp. I'm so glad for the Motrin. I was getting

really fed up with crushed Tylenol. When you wake up in the middle

of the night, that's not the taste you want in your mouth. I also

bought a baby brushtooth! It's yellow and glows in the dark. :D I

manage to brush my teeth! I missed that feeling, although obviously

I can't do much...

Oh, and today I did my first real outing; I went to see the Lord of

the Rings! (Anybody who's in shape for that: see it now. It's soo

worth it.) It was in downtown Montreal, so I had to do the whole

transportation thing: 1 hour in bus and metro. I survived. :D I

managed not to eat from 11 am to 5 pm. That's a LONG time. Very

hungry when I came back home. But I don't regret it, the movie was

worth the experience.

Thanks for asking! :)

Hi Marlaine!

I'm glad you're doing okay and going out. I will attempt leaving my

apartment tomorrow. I've been feeling pretty good for the last couple

of days, but it's been nice just staying home and resting. I can't

even remember the last time I spent a week just lying around (even if

I was recovering from jaw surgery) They are hoping I come back to

work on Monday (it will be quiet at work on Monday and then I'd have

2 half days to get through on tuesday and wednesday - then I'll be

off work from Christmas until Jan 5th so I can get more rest if

needed). One of my friends wants to go see Lord of the Rings this

weekend, but we'll probably wait until between Christmas and New

Year's Day to see it. I still have a bunch of cookies to bake this

weekend.

I got Children's Motrin also - but I had gotten the bubble gum

flavour and it was too sweet for me right after surgery. Made me

cough which wasn't good. Now that some of the swelling has gone away -

I can brush the outside of my teeth also. I did it for the first

time yesterday. My surgeon has allowed me to use my Waterpik which is

great also. Actually, he recommended I use it.

Happy Healing!
