Guest guest Posted December 4, 2003 Report Share Posted December 4, 2003 Hi I am 2 weeks post op with lower and upper surgery, everything is fine (swelling has gone down , but some still remains) but i have no feeling on half my top lip and all my gums. Guest guest Posted February 5, 2004 Report Share Posted February 5, 2004 Hi Jerry, Although slow, it sounds like yours is gradually returning. I am just a little over 2 months post op and today my doc said that i had about 90% of my feeling back after he gave me a few tests. I was suprised with this because to me it feels more like only 40% normal. He exlplained that its a very slow process and that a little numbness sometimes feels like a lot. Most of the time it feels like my lip is swollen or fat. I can only detect changes every 2 or 3 weeks. I think for some it takes up to a year. I know its frustrating, but just hang in there.
