Guest guest
Kim, This is the last thing any of us wanted to hear from you. I'm so sorry. I remember your ordeal vividly (probably not as vividly as you do, however). I hope that this round of braces fixes your problem completely. If you do need the surgery again, I can't imagine that it will be so tough on you as your double jaw surgery was. Do your docs say why you're having the movement? I assume it's joint related? I would make sure that your joints have stabilized before you attempt another surgery. Good to hear from you and I'm sending some positive ortho vibes your way, Cheryl
Guest guest
Hi Kim, So sorry to hear about all the troubles. Your first surgery just seems to have been snake-bitten all around. First all that pain, and then a compromised result. That must be awful! And I don't know how people do those cross-the-mouth elastics. I'd be surprised if I could sleep with one in there. But I don't suppose you have a lot of choice, do you? Which is a good incentive to put up with it and get done. I do hope all will get better for you in a hurry! Take care, and let us know how you're doing. Cammie > I thought an update might be in order since I'm an old-timer and > don't visit here very often. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, Yes, the memories are still quite clear - to the point that I can still get teary-eyed when I think about the aftermath. To even imagine going thru anything even CLOSE to that again literally scares the hell out of me. My surgeon says that it's just a mild relapse. He said that my upper jaw is stable and hasn't moved, but the bottom one has. As you pointed out, he did recommend that if I chose to have another surgery, it would be best to wait until my braces are back off to ensure stability first. I'm not going to make a decision just yet. I'm going to first see if the crosswise band helps at all. I don't need aesthetic perfection, but I do want it fixed to the point that the popping goes away because it does intermittently hurt and causes periodic aching. I'll keep you posted as new things occur and I thank you for letting me air and giving me positive feedback. *Kim* > Kim, > > This is the last thing any of us wanted to hear from you. I'm so > sorry.
