Hi,

I was just wondering when you do you think it is okay to sleep flat

on your back or on your side. I have started to do it a bit...but

noticed that I get congested at times in the morning, and feel a bit

swollen. I am getting abit worried about the whole thing...I am 8

weeks post-op and do not want to make anything worst or cause damage.

Your opinion and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

At this point, the bones should be pretty well healed so you

probably won't do any damage especially lying flat on your back. You

do need to still be careful about lying on your side. Check with

your surgeon to make that is okay.

Hey, we had surgery the same week, and I sleep with one pillow now,

usually on my side. Some mornings I wake up a bit more congested, or

more swollen on one side than the other, but after a brisk walk, or

just a hot shower and moving around, things settle down. My os said

that it was not a problem how I slept, and that was at 6 weeks. He

did suggest I use two pillows, mainly for comfort from congestion,

but sometimes I just want to be FLAT and on my stomach!! Which is

how I usually wake up.. Apparently this is just an after effect of

swelling, and as I'm sure you've read on this site, complete relief

from swelling can take months and months. Happy dreams, Alix
