Guest guest
--Hi, my son is 3 and we started the diet when he was 2 1/2. Before we started the diet my son ate very little. After the initial transferr period to the diet (he went through withdrawl) he suddenly became ravenous! He actually sat down and ate meals instead of me running around trying to shove food in he mouth because I was afraid he would starve. He is pretty light for his age and I know how stressful it is to worry about your child not eating. After starting enzymes we noticed an even greater increase in appetite. He by no means is a great eater but it had improved greatly. I feel for you, it sounds like a really stressful situation for you. My only thought about why my sons appetite increased is that maybe he stopped feeling bad from his food and actually started enjoying eating and really got hungry for the first time. Now that I think back, it was after we started on enzymes that we actually heard him say " I'm hungry! " and " I like meatloaf! " Just a thought. Guest guest
Hi Kim and welcome. I certainly hope something here helps your son even just a little (but really hoping it will help A LOT!!!) My younger son had a serious non-eating problem for a few years, but he is younger than your son (just turned 8) and not severe at all. He was very lethargic, moped around, had bad bowels, wouldn't eat much and hadn't gained weight in about 2 years. He is very tall for his age and my husband was complaining he was anorexic, so all of this was quite an Issue at our house. We started him on Peptizyde and he was okay for the first 2 weeks (a little better but not significantly). About the third week we added the Zyme Prime and he because RAVENOUS. He kept asking for more and more food saying, " Please, Mommy, I am s-t-a-r-v-i-n-g! " He now would wolf down all kinds of things he wouldn't touch before. He went from about 6 foods to 30 by the end of the first month. We eventually treated him for a bacteria overgrowth as well. I don't know if you will see such a dramatic change but this is what happened at our house. Oh, and he gained about 5 pounds by the third month and was really a lot healthier. We have been on enzymes for 8 months now and he has gained 10 pounds. Now he looks like a thin but healthy 8- year-old...not sickly. And he has lots more energy. Just go ahead an give enzymes throughout the day. They will help with gut healing, colon cleansing and the immune system if there is no food in the gut. His appetite may improve slowly then as he feels better. Best wishes for success. Post if you have any questions or concerns. .
Guest guest
Kim, I wish I could be of more help to you, but I have not had such a trying experience. My son is very thin, and we have always wished he would eat more, but the concern has not been anywhere near as serious as what you are describing. I hope someone else can give you some input and if I do think of anything, I will email you. One thing I did want to say is I would reconsider trying more than one new supplement at once. If you think the enzymes may be the most beneficial of the new things you are adding, I would only start the enzymes and hold off on the others. We have had numerous parents have a difficult time figuring out why their child was reacting when starting enzymes, yet upon questioning, we've determined it was another new supplement that was the culprit. Another thing to consider is that if the enzymes help your son, you may not need some of the other supplements. Additionally, if you are starting the Houston enzymes, be sure to start one at a time. I would go very slowly with the dose since your son has such a limited diet and may go through some opioid withdrawal. Please let us know how he does. > I am new to the list and trying to wade through all the past posts. > In the meantime, can any of you tell me if you have experience with a > child who just will not eat?? I have been giving them and hoping he will eat, but alas...he never does. It's only been about 5 days now, so hopefully we will see an increase in appetite before too long. At least at this moment in time, he's still drinking well. Many thanks, Kim
