Guest guest
All- I've poked around on this board over the past few months, and now that I am back in my office after a long holiday, so I thought I would shoot a quick message. I am currently slated for Upper & Lower jaw surgery this coming March 2004. A brief history about me, I do not have major pronouncement and most people are wondering why I am having the surgery at all, but my ortho, surgeon, etc. all recommended to have the surgery so to fix my overcrowding, irregular bite, etc. and I agreed that I would be happier in the end. So, back in June 2003 I had a SARPE (surgically assisted rapid palatal expander) installed and underwent that somewhat minor procedure. Braces went on in August 2003 and now my teeth are pretty much in place and ready for the surgery. Needless to say, I am quite nervous, but more than anything I am more excited for this whole ordeal to be over. My surgeon says that I will be wired for about 4 weeks, but for some reason I have a feeling that it will be longer. If anyone can share some advice for me over the next two months, it would be greatly appreciated. Anyway questions that I should ask my surgeon that I may not have thought of? Thanks very much.
