Surgery POSTPONED

My surgery that was scheduled for December 31st has been postponed

for " March or 3-4 months or May or June. " My husband blurted

out " May or June doesn't work for me because I can't take time off. "

It all about him :(

My OS postponed the surgery because of the " cant " (slightly slanted

lower jaw) issue. My ortho, my husband, and I don't want my upper

jaw seated with the lower jaw that is slanted. My ortho said that

my OS is the best and can make the upper straight instead of seating

with the slanted lower jaw and that he (ortho) would fine tune

the " cant " after surgery. My OS wants my ortho to work on

eliminating the " cant " by using rubber bands, buttons, etc. before

surgery. My OS said that the " cant " wouldn't be that noticeable and

it wouldn't hurt my joints, but since I'm hesitant he won't do the

surgery at this time. He also said that if I have surgery before the

ortho's fine tuning that no one will be happy with the results,

especially him so the surgery is postponed until my " cant " is gone

(or as gone as it can be since I'm " 33 and not 17 " - as per my OS).

My secondary insurance approved through 2003. I hope my husband's

employer doesn't revise the policy/plan for 2004 because I only want

to pay $100, not $20K+.

Now I am stuck with hooks and wires until Monday because my ortho is

on Christmas vacation this week. Bummer! I can't wait to get these

hooks off. I also have a zip-n-squeeze hospital kit (10-pk) that

won't be used for several months. Oh well... that's life.

~ :)
