Guest guest
Hi All, I read many posts prior to surgery. They mean a great deal more to me now that I've been through it. I am 49 years old. I had the upper and lower osto. and the geoplasty. The oral surgeon has been incredible and the nursing staff was wonderful. It was hard to understand me, so this caused confusion when my husband was out of the room. The OS feels that all is well and everything is on schedule. When will I begin to see the real new face. I'm still very swollen and a bit bruised. I can tell that my profile is different now. The post op surgery showed that the airways are much wider. The first week was rough due to the fact that I had a great deal of congestion. Besides taking dynatap, what can I do about this? I also have an abrasion on the gum line that is very uncomfortable. Will this take care of itself in time? What did anyone else do about this symptom? My speech is difficult to understand. When will this improve? How long before I can stop the pain meds.? I still need to take them every three to five hours to stay comfortable. Will things begin to look brighter after the first two weeks? Thanks for your help. You all have already helped me a great deal via your posts. Blessings, Ann
