Guest guest
Dear friends, Has anyone on this list had success or problems with essential fatty acids? Every so often I try to introduce them to my daughter, only to have problems. I tried Dale 's Omea-3 brand and she seemed to be miserable for the 3 of the 4 days while being on them...and I only gave her 1 capsule a day. I stopped giving it to her yesterday and she seems happier today. I've tried DHA, evening primrose oil and EFLAX in the past and everyone of these seem to bring on irritable, aggitated behavior. Any thoughts? Thanks, mom to beautiful, singing who just turned
Guest guest
, My son always reacted to EFAs, either with behavior or wetting. After enzymes, he did not react so much with behavior, but still with wetting. Some parents report very good success with them, though. I am eager to try flax oil again soon, but it is hard to get it into my son - he can't stand the taste. 13, beautiful and singing? I have tried CLO, flax, and evening primrose for my son. I even tried them for myself. Both my son and I had major negative reactions, even with enzymes. So I don't use them. And we are just fine [well, my SON is just fine, *I* am debatable LOL]. I think we are both getting sufficient fatty acids in our regular foods, so I do not believe we currently need " supplementation " in this area. Guest guest
I asked this once before and never saw the answer come through...am hoping someone knows... what is difference between Omega 3, 6 and 9...? Is it just the " molecule " size? Sorry if this sounds stupid...you don't know until you ask (and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would want an answer to this one)...anyway, if just a molecule size issue, wouldn't enzymes help break down ... can you get " 3 " s from breakdown of " 9s " or " 6s " for example? Any insight at all would be greatly appreciated. Jeanne A. Guest guest
Dear Dana, What types of efa's are you getting in your regular diet if you don't mind me asking. I try switching oils when I'm baking 's muffins and pancakes and use olive oil spray when coating muffin tins and chicken skin. Guest guest
Jeanne, If you go to this link you will find 's DAN conference notes including a few speakers who focused on EFAs http://www.autismchannel.net/dana/parent3.htm#danconf01 > I asked this once before and never saw the answer come through...am > hoping someone knows... > > what is difference between Omega 3, 6 and 9...? We are doing fine tho, so I am assuming we are receiving everything we need from our regular diet. Altho I can't really tell you exactly WHICH foods we are eating which would contain them. Sorry. Guest guest
Dear Dana, That's OK. Just curious as to what specific oils you use when baking or cooking. Thanks, Re: [ ]EFA problems-need advice > > > Dear Dana, > > What types of efa's are you getting in your regular diet if you > don't > > mind me asking. Strange, but true. Dana
