I so envy you the ability to softly chew. I'm 5 days post-op and

find myself dreaming of food. I love to eat and can't wait til I'm

at the point that you're at. Congratulations!

Thanks Becky:

I can totally relate about the food. The first week or so I had some

terrible cravings for a fast food burger and fries. I'm still a ways

off from that, but someday soon. The thing that has helped me the

most as far as feeling full and keeping my weight up was some weight

gain powder that I found at GNC. I blend a cup of it with milk,

bananas and peanut butter for my own homeade weight gain smoothie.

It taste so good and is also loaded with calories and vitamins to

help give you energy that your body needs to heal. All the other

blended foods, puddings and soup can still leave you feeling so

hungry afterwards.

Hang in there. You will be chewing soon.

hey there. i'm also biting myself!! sounds funny, but it's true.

i got a COLD last week. how much does that suck. it was

uncomfortable...this is NOT the time to get sick. so i was sneezing

like crazy. i had to sneeze w/ my mouth open and try not to be too

hard on my jaws. but every time i sneeze (and talk, and drink and

just sit there) i BITE MY TONGUE. i used to (USED TOOOO!!!!!) have

this big gap on teh right side, but now it's definitely closed and

my tongue is not used to it! by the 2nd day of my cold, my tongue

was raw on that side....horrible. but i kind of laugh every time it

happens, even thought it hurts, because it's been like that for so

long!!

Hi Mark,

I had a full stomach today...first time in 6 days. It felt

absolutely wonder. I had a can of Progresso Beef Pot Roast soup and

blended it up really well and slurped it in. Delicious!! Next week I

get looser bands so I can open more. I can't wait.

I've been using Protein Powder from GNC in my shakes everyday. I

really think that's helped me a lot. I've only lost 5 pounds so far.

I think that's all I'll lose. I'm very tiny to begin with and don't

want to lose any more.

Hi Becky:

That's great:

I'm sure that made you feel tons better. I am doing well with my

soft diet. I tried some brunswick stew over the weekend, but it had

a lot of meat and was too much for me to chew. I guess I have to be

careful.

Gosh if i could chew normally, i probably would gain 20lbs. I went

to the grocery store tonight and I felt like a ravenous animal and

had urges to rip open package and start eating.

When I changed to looser bands, my doc instructed me to take them off

when eating and brushing. Maybe yours will be the same.

Good Luck
