Jill,

We had our surgery the same day. I had mine in Green Bay, WI.

Regarding the protein. the surgeon and dietian in my program

recommend No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast as my source of

protien (3 times a day, as a snack). the chocolate is like drinking

chocolate milk. From what I can tell, not many, if any, people use

this. Run it by your surgeon or dietian, but it goes down pretty

smooth.

Hi Jill and welcome to the group... we're a caring, helpful bunch so

stick around, k.

Those blues are absolutely part of the process for many of us.

Thankfully time and (for me at least, lol) good medication can help

things along.

The only protein powder that I have found to be tolerable is GNC 100%

whey in chocolate flavor... have never been able to stand the non

flavored or vanilla flavored. The powder mixes thin in water and has

very little after taste. Soy protein was the most vial tasting stuff

for me, but whey is much better and doesn't smell as strong.

Welcome again,

Hi Jill Glad you can join us. I am Jill also. I am still waiting

for my surgical date, but I understand the blues are very common in

weeks 2-6 postop. Just keep plugging away. I have just recentely

joined the group and everyone is great. I'm from Michigan. Did your

trip home go akay? Best of luck.

I was dreading the nasty drinks also but the apple fantasy nectar protein

drinks is really better than I thought it would be. The only thing I don't like

is that wild green color, lol. But I made up a drink and its not hard to get

down at all.
