Guest guest
Hey, My surgeon gave me the whenever you feel comfortable too, but also said if I lift weights make sure it is very low weight so you do not clench your jaw. I started doing cardio after 3 weeks and started back lifting again after 4. You can do it but just stay with low weight and dont do the extra couple reps that is going to make you really strain

Guest guest
My doctor gave me the ok to do anything i wanted at 3 weeks (as long as my face wasn't in danger of being hit . i asked if i could lift weights and run, and he said, anything i want to do. i've been starting out easy and haven't had any problems. just don't push yourself too hard. i figure we've already been through so much, why not take it slow so nothing gets harmed. good luck --- j_kiddum no_reply > wrote: --------------------------------- I'm almost 4 weeks post-op (this coming Tuesday afternoon to be exact). I only had upper surgery and feel pretty good. I've also started walking again as my exercise regimen for the time being. Do you think it'll be safe for me to start weight-lifting again and doing crunches, lunges, and squats? My OS told me to take it easy and gave me the go-ahead to exercise " whenever you feel like you can. " Well, that doesn't really help me! He warned me again high- impact exercises, though. So, when did you guys start going back to your normal exercise routines? ---------------------------------
Guest guest
Thanks for the heads up, Aileen. I'll definitely not push myself too hard. I doubt that I'll be able to start running right away after not being able to exercise for almost a month now! So for now I'll continue with walking and some light weight-lifting. I'll gradually work my way back up to jogging and hopefully, running in a couple of months! > > --------------------------------- > I'm almost 4 weeks post-op (this coming Tuesday > afternoon to be > exact).
