Lots of people explained to me about dumping but you never know what it feels like until it happens. That lancing front to back pain, the sweats, the woozy, weak feeling, the cramps. Gah! No one could have prepared me for that. Regards ette
Guest guest
It depends. Did you have something that might have had some sugar in it? Or what I noticed is that I can eat something (that I am suppose to eat-well now I am cleared for regular stuff this far out) and one day it worked and then another time it would not. I experience this when I have had too many sugar free popcicles. I had the stomach cramping and I would be, well, unavailable for at least 20 minutes. Its just a weird thing. I have never experienced the othe symptoms though. Just try and remember what you had all day and then see what happens the next time you consume those same products. Thats about the only real way you will know. Sorry I could not be of more help to you. Guest guest
I had a little incident like that, too...not the very first BM, but in the third week or so, I was in dire pain. I'm not going to go into details here, because it was horrible and too personal...but let's just say it felt like i was passing a bowling ball or something. It was terrible and I felt terrible. Now I take a stool softener. Never had these problems before surgery, so I wasn't prepared. Don't know if it's because i hadn't been able to consume as much water...or what. But YIKES. Guest guest
Sounds like you did. When Dumping was first discribed to me, I realized it was what happens when I eat pork - Extreme gastro-intestinal distress along with the sweats, shakes, the woozies and the " I'm gonna die " feeling I'm 9 1/2 months out and I had an episode last week with a piece of grilled chicken from Burger King - no bread just the meat. Oh man - the pain and I was at work too! Just remember this whole process has an individual learning curve :-) and if you do/eat something to piss off the pouch, you'll do it only once. The pain is a negitive reinforcement of what NOT to do. Cheers, Kerre -141 and 35 to goal > Ok i dont know if i experienced my first dumping syndrome last night > or it was just the first BM after surgery- > But i thought i was gonna die! > I was in pain, and sweating-i had to take a shower to cool off > I felt better after the deed was done, but Really, that was something > I wish i had warning about.. > > My gosh! > sarah castro > surgery 8-2 Fremont
