Guest guest
I am sick to death of eating noodles, tuna, grits, soup and spaghetti. I need something new to eat. Do any of you have any meals to share. T
Guest guest
At two weeks post-op, my doctor approved me to eat soft hamburger meat, if I cut it up in tiny tiny pieces & he also approved same with shredded chicken. Hamburger & chicken gives you a lot of options! I've even gone to the grocery store & asked the butcher to grind up steak (rib eye works good) like a hamburger & eaten that after I cooked it of coarse! (I did that before surgery because of chewing limitations I had then). > I am sick to death of eating noodles, tuna, grits, soup and > spaghetti. I need something new to eat. Guest guest
I was able to eat fish & chips-style fish. Just peel the batter off, add lots of tartar sauce (I like tartar sauce), flatten with a fork and slide 'er in. You don't have to chew down on that stuff, I actually just mushed it around with my tongue before I was allowed to soft chew. I also did the french fries by adding liberal amounts of vinegar and ketchup to soften them up, mushing with my fork or knife, then just mushing them up against the top of my mouth (palate) for taste. I bravely did this at two weeks post-op in a pub. First time I was able to drink from a glass too - pub glasses are just the right shape for re-learning how to drink. > I am sick to death of eating noodles, tuna, grits, soup and > spaghetti. Guest guest
Eggs, beans (I like refried beans with cheese melted on top), soup, oatmeal with bananas, chili, souffles (I found a great spinach one in the grocery store that was really yummy), rice (I made a delicious Thai coconut rice with black beans and vegi's the other day), couscous with soft vegi's, soft vegi's (cooked peas, carrots, spaghetti squash) and fruit (applesauce, soft pears, bananas, etc.) - oh there are so many good things - just try flipping through a cookbook or take your time in the grocery store going down every aisle - I always find something new (I tried a new and yummy vegetarian vegi loaf with mashed pototoes and corn/peas yesterday for lunch)! > I am sick to death of eating noodles, tuna, grits, soup and > spaghetti. Guest guest
I am still on liquid but hope to be released to soft chew on Monday. I plan to try sloppy joe filling (with finely ground meat), scalloped potatoes, mashed up tamales, and lots of Indian food. (I actually have already managed to eat some pureed Indian food through my syringe!) Knorr's makes a penne pasta in tomato parmesan sauce that I really like, especially if I add chopped black olives. I plan to just crush the pasta a little before cooking it and think I should be able to get it down fine. I also make a casserole which is just cooked rice mixed with cream of celery soup, milk, sauteed onions and celery and breakfast sausage that I think will go down fine as long as the meat and veggies are chopped small. How about hummous and baba ghanoush? Those are usually very smooth. Can you tell I am ready to get to the where you are? Luck, > I am sick to death of eating noodles, tuna, grits, soup and > spaghetti. I need something new to eat.
