Guest guest
Hello, I finally had all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth taken out on Wednesday. I am feeling slightly better, still can not eat anything other than liquid. I did not get very much swelling at all, however have a great deal of numbness near my front teeth and chin. I feel like my chin is very numb and swollen, also the lower left side of my mouth feels very numb and swollen (that was a problematic tooth). Is this numbness common?? Anything I can or should be doing to help it go away?
Guest guest
Me too had all my 4 wisdom teeth removed on 5th Feb. Lucky you that you didn't experience much swelling. For me, my face tranformed into a chipmunk face within 5 hours post-op and a slight bruises too. And it got worst the next day. It started to subside on the 4th day. I took liquid food for about 5 days and I felt terrible. I lost about 5 lbs just on removing of my wisodm teeth and I'm only 95 lbs and stand at 5'3. Really have no idea how I'm going to survive when time has come for the jaw surgery. Sob Sob .. .. As most of the people lost about 10-15% of their body weight after jaw surgery. My bottom left side is much swollen than the right side and sometimes I can feel the pain too. I find that my left side is giving my more problems than my right side. Hence, healing time is slower too. I finished all the anti-biotic & pain killer which prescribed by the Dr. As for numbness, I slowly got my feeling back on the 5th day. I felt this funny sensation on my chin and and side of my mouth, which obviously is the sign of my nerve getting back their life again. Now, I don't have any numbness on my chin but I'm still have some slight numbness on my bottom left and right side of my mouth. Believe it will go away soon. Actually there is nothing much to heal numbness except to wait. The key is to let time heal by itself.
