I had upper/lower/genio (had an easy recovery, no issues) and was off

work for 5 weeks. Went back and did some major overtime work in week

6 (about 3 14-hour days, which I can normally do no problem). By the

end of the week, I was shocked to find myself trembly and weak, the

first time I ever physically realized what stress can do to the body.

I felt my speech become more " drunk " sounding, it required greater

effort. When I got home I realized that my mouth had swelled up

inside. It took about 3 days of rest and relaxation to get back to

work.

I tried to minimize the amount of talking I did at work because I

found it so tiring.

Suggestions for swelling:

1) Homeopathic remedies (these are not herbal remedies - I suggest

consulting a registered homeopath rather than taking off-the-shelf

remedies)

2) MLD therapy (you can read about this on the geocities site at

http://www.geocities.com/orthognathicinfo click on MLD in the

lefthand sidebar

I did both of the above and had excellent results. We could see

immediate reduction in swelling after just one session of MLD

therapy. Both homeopath and MLD therapist said it is never too late

to try either method. Both are intended as " kickstarts " for your

body's healing mechanisms.

Hope that helps.

Are you comfy sleeping with your head elevated? That might help...

And I know Fiddly suggested MLD massage.. I don't know whether

or not it did anything for swelling, nor whether it got rid of any

toxins. (I had just had shingles, and was trying to help them

vanish.) But I do know that for a couple of weeks after I had the

session, many, many people I met who didn't know I'd had the massage

told me that my skin looked gorgeous!

That may be enough incentive, alone. Now... where do I find the next

$85 to schedule another session? (This was in a spa setting, which is

a set of odd stories all in itself. I think I would have been a lot

more comfortable in a more clinical surround.)
