Guest guest
Don't quite know how to answer this one. Sorry. i think it could well depend on how long your healing takes. If you are young and strong, that might be quick. If you are older, and have troubles recovering, it might take longer. I would wager that if you're young and strong, you wil heal quickly, especially from a lower only surgery. But it coule take more time if you need both upper and lower. Or if you're older. Or need more extensive work. Just a few thoughts. C. > I was wondering how long it normally takes to return to normal day to > day activites after a lower jaw surgery. Guest guest
Hey, Brittany. After two weeks, I was pretty much back to normal, but at a less-strenous level. I get tired after a short while of activity (like hiking or something with my kids) so I try to take it easy whenever I can. (like now: checking email instead of doing dishes! LOL) But I suspect you might not be able to swim competitively for several weeks. Less food intake = less energy = less activity = less energy. So eat right, take it easy, and you'll have your enery back soon (but maybe not at 2 weeks) Eileen > I was wondering how long it normally takes to return to normal day to > day activites after a lower jaw surgery. Guest guest
I can tell you that at something over a month after lower advancement, I asked my surgeon about swimming (and not competitive swimming, at that) and was told, " It's too much exertion for now.
