Kris had surgery today - an update

This is here (Kris' husband). Kris had surgery today which

finished about 2:30pm. She wanted me to give everyone an update.

Surgery went very well. The doctor came in beforehand and reviewed

things and checked if we had any questions. Surgery was 4 1/2 hrs.

and the doctor was very pleased with how it all went. She has

feeling in her upper lip and is very strong. I think she mentioned

this, but she was not wired shut. She has the polymer bone plates

and and a bite splint. She will use elastics tommorrow to control

any shifting.

She is swollen, but not much in my mind. It is being controlled with

a head band. I was also surprised she could talk right away (she

was cracking jokes in recovery). When the doctor came up 2 and a

half to 3 hrs. after surgery, he was very impressed that she could

already drink from a cup!

Everything is going well. I'll probably report additional details

tommorrow.
