Guest guest
Hello all. I went to see my Oral Surgeon yesterday, and he said that my Orthodontist is doing a really great job. He says he wants to see my lower front teeth closed before he will schedule the surgery, and that will take about another 12 weeks. I have powerchains on my lower teeth right now to close the gaps. He was sort of funny though -- of course, maybe my case isn't as bad as everyone elses. He said he's going to be segmenting my upper jaw, and will widen it and move it forward. All he's going to do with the lower jaw is move it over about 2mm. He said that I'd be banded for about 2 weeks, and then the splint and bands would come off, and I'd be on a soft chew diet. And I'd be able to go back to work in 2 weeks! Is he being overly optomistic? I really like him -- he spent an hour with me yesterday in his office answering every question I had, and showed my models, x-rays, etc. I want to belive him -- but is it realistic to? Thanks, Blake
