Chocolate Amaretto Bars Crust 3 c. flour 1 c. Butter or margarine, cut into pieces and softened 1/2 c. packed brown sugar Filling 4 eggs 3/4 c. light corn syrup 3/4 c. granulated sugar 1/4 c. amaretto liquer or 1/2 t. almond extract 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine, melted 1 T. cornstarch 2 cups (about 7 ounces) sliced almonds 2 Cups (12 ounce pkg.) of Semi sweet chocolate morsels, divided Chocolate Drizzle (optional recipe follows) For crust, beat flour, butter and brown sugar in large bowl until crumbly. Press into greased 13 by 9 in baking pan. Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. For Filling Beat eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, liqueur, butter and cornstarch in bowl with wire wisk. Stir in almonds and 1 and 2/3 cups of morsels. Pour and spread over hot crust. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes until center is set. Cool in pan to room temperature. It desired top with Chocolate Drizzle. Chill for 5 minutes or until chocolate is firm. Cut into bars. Makes 2 and 1/2 dozen bars. For chocolate Drizzle Place remaining morsels in heavy duty plastic bag. Microwave on HIGH (100%) power for 45 seconds; knead bag to mix. Microwave at additional 10 second intervals, kneading until smooth. Cut a small hole in corner of bag; squeeze to drizzle chocolate over bars. Enjoy!!
