Guest guest
You should probably ask your surgeon about it, but I had a problem with my outer toes being numb for about a month after surgery. My sister's feet were completely numb right after surgery, but got better before she went home. I think it has to do with the position you're in during surgery. For us, it was an almost upright/standing position. I'd still ask your dr. or even anesthesiologist about it. Good luck. Cheri > Hi all > > doing well here, but I have a question. Guest guest
Alix - I went through this as well. It does go away after you begin to adjust to the new breathing (I think because the nasal passages are larger or in my case widened since my upper jaw was widened). I was very sensitive to the cold and it hurt to breath in. I just tried not to take deep breaths - short little ones instead - that seemed to help. The swelling takes awhile to go down - at a little over 3 months - I still have just a little puffiness. Just hang in there - your body will adjust to the new changes. > Hey all, > I'm two weeks post op today from upper/lower/genio. Guest guest
Alix, I had my surgery on 3/12/03 and it was very painful to breathe in cold air afterwards. I had to walk around with a scarf or tissue over my nose, which helped a lot. I can't tell you what happened first - that my nose stopped hurting or the weather got warm, but I can say that when things started to get cold this past October, I never felt any pain, so hopefully that means your pain will go away as you heal too. Best! > Hey all, > I'm two weeks post op today from upper/lower/genio. I am > experiencing a tremendous intolerance to cold air and my face feels > very, very dry. Guest guest
I don't have an answer for you about the skin but I just had to renew my license this past february. I was 210 at the time...now I'm 188 I think I'll wait a year or so THEN get a new one :-) But you'r right, it does suck - but in a good way.
