2 wk post op question... *newbie*

Hey I'm a newbie here,

I just had a question for those of you who have had the jaw op

already:

2 weeks post op, do u still have that chipmunk face from all the

swelling?

I'm having an upper and lower because i have a pretty big under

bite. Please let me know what the swelling is like, so I know wether

or not I can have the op during my short winter or spring break.

For me - yes!! It took like 4 weeks to see a big improvement and

now at 11 weeks I think I am still just a little puffy in the upper

lip and cheeks.

I'm sure you've gotten many responses that tell you that everyone is

different. My face was so swollen that I'm just now able to say that I have the

" chipmunk face " and I'm going on 7 weeks post-op. However, many have gone to

" almost " normal after just two weeks and some didn't even swell much at all.

Mine, apparently, was a unique case because even my OS was concerned about the

amount of swelling I had. Again, remember, every case is different and there's

always a chance you may not have very little, if any, swelling at all.
