Guest guest
Hi, Did any of you have impacted lower wisdom teeth removed at the time of the surgery? Thanks, Val
Guest guest
My surgeon says he will not remove wisdom teeth at the same time as surgery. He only did that once, and the girl was miserable, miserable, miserable. He says now he always does the teeth first, usually before braces if that's possible. (That's when mine came out, partially though because my ortho needed the room in the bottom.) He says that getting your wisdom teeth out is harder than having the surgery, because teeth leave behind an empty pocket that needs to heal, and the surgery doesn't. He cut my upper tooth out of the bone (it was riding sideways above the roots of my molars) and left behind a tooth-sized cavity in the bone to heal. Recovery was a breeze (no pain pills, no chipmunk cheeks), but I did feel an ache in my cheek for weeks. I suppose it might have been difficult to deal with recovering from surgery and from having that piece of bone gone, too. Then again, from what I read here, other OS's don't think the same.
