Guest guest
I think I would have slugged him. (And if I'd been on the jury, I'd have probably voted for acquittal if you'd taken a potshot at him, although I'm not recommending either approach.) Then, when he came to, I would have asked ever so sweetly, " Why are you telling me this, NOW? Aren't you supposed to be able to figure out these things BEFORE you do the surgery? " Yes. I think you probably are over-reacting. You're vulnerable just now, and you still probably have some of the aftereffects of the anesthesia and steroids in your system. In any case, the only way in the world anybody could have talked me into an OR again while I was healing would have been if a doc I trusted thought the first procedure was relapsing. And NO, I am not suggesting that you are, nor am I suggesting that you tell that to this chop-happy dude. Makes me sooo angry, too! (I do think some surgeons get blase about the whole thing. There's one plastic surgery guy I've heard about down in lower Florida whose wife has become pretty much of a joke in their circles, because he doesn't seem to be able to keep his scalpel off her body.) Try not to let it get to you. And before I'd let him cut on me again, I'd for sure want to see at least one other surgeon and tell him the whole story and ask what he/she thinks.
