Thanks ! It makes me feel better that I'm not alone on this!

I threw up blood in the hospital and felt better after too. I, like

you, was weaned off the demerol and onto tylenol with codeine. I

decided this morning to try just children's motrin (jeez, feel like

I'm drinking half the bottle!). I am feeling better now that I

slept for 3+ hours.

I was also told no heat and that ice really wouldn't help after 24

hours. Did you find the ice helped with the pressure?

Did you feel sick to your stomach after MLD therapy? I am going in

today for the first time and am a little nervous!

Thanks again for replying. This board has been so helpful!!

Nope, I was not sick after MLD therapy. It is a light touch therapy.

Just tell them how you are feeling, it's important for them to know.

I had to sit upright and it was hard to do that for an hour, I wanted

to recline. I also had a bit of pain in my upper lip where she was

working, that was because of the twisted wire surgical hooks. I told

her to go easy there.

I took childrens' tylenol in liquid form. Bubblegum was my favourite

flavour!

I found that my face & forehead got hot, so the ice cooled it off and

made me feel better. There's something about laying there with an ice

pack that calms you down.

Drink lots of water, that will help flush things out. And ask your

MLD therapist for some simple exercises you can do in between

sessions to keep things moving.

the whimp part of me is a little freaked with someone touching my

face!!!

Isn't that funny, . My MLD lady had me lie down in a really

heated bed, and I'd have been happier sitting up. Of course, I was

much longer post-op than you were when I tried it!

I guess MLD ladies are like surgeons -- each one has his/her own idea

about how things should be done! tee-hee!
