Guest guest
Thanx, Irish. I was feeling kind of blue, but for some reason, your post made me feel really good. Thank you very much for that. As for Grandma's little sweetie...she was/is my biggest supporter. No matter what, she loves me and treats me just the same...never given me a moment of grief. I am a typical grandmother...everything she does makes me smile and I miss her soooo much when she goes home. I can't wait to see her for the holidays. Smooches Smooches ... Hi Smooches/etta, I just wanted to say that I ~finally~ took a new look at some pix on Site 2. I saw your directory there and took a peek at ya. It's nice to see your face! You're coming along nicely! I hope you are feeling well. I also had to respond that Grandma's little sweetie is just adorable! There was a time over a year ago that a bunch of us posted our favorite kid/grandkid/pet photos. We totally clogged up Site 1's photo space before we started clearing them out It's nice to share a personal picture of our families to remind us all that we're not just orthognathic patients, but moms, grandmoms, dads, grandpas, sisters, brothers, husbands and wives. Thank goodness for family and friends' support during our surgeries. And thank goodness for the little ones who keep us smiling, even if we do have numb lips and/or faces! Irish! Guest guest
The nice thing about kids is they love you to bits without condition. Your grandaughter is no exception and I can imagine her sitting on your lap in the months ahead asking and re-asking questions about your new look and probably the old look as well. On the classes side, don't push yourself too hard too early. That 1 hr drive each way and 5 hrs of classes in between sounds a bit heavy so soon after your op. Do you do need to do that very often? When it is my turn I am planning to take a semester off from teaching (I have lots of accrued sick leave) and longer if neccessary. Take care of yourself so early after the op. Rod > > Thanx, Irish. Guest guest
Rod, Thanx for the concern. It is a bit much, but I've started back already and too stubborn to quit (I hate to quit anything). Anyway, I go to school on Wed and Thurs nights and Sat mornings each week. I work on the nights I don't go to school and also on Saturday evenings. Fortunately, I have a job that all I do (get this) is flip the channels back and forth watching the NBA and NHL games. Honestly...that's all I do. It's called " game monitoring " ...and yes, they pay me to do it. LOL! On the serious side, at this point in time, that's all my Fweetie will allow me to do. My normal job (IT Specialist) is a bit to strenuous and stressful to go back at this point in time. How are the invisaligns working for you? Guest guest
Wow, etta I wish I had students like you. Students we have take any opportunity to skip classes even when there is nothing wrong. You have a pretty heavy load even for someone who has not recently had serious surgery. Sounds like a great job you have though. What is the IT job market like in the US at the moment? - we have had a serious collapse in vacancies (90% drop in 2 years) Thanks for your concern too. The invisaligns seem to be going well now. After the initial problems my mouth has settled down quite nicely. I can feel the pressure and am sure one of my incisors has moved quite a bit in the short time I have had them in. A bit of a nuisance to have to take them out each time I eat or have a coffee but I learning to organise my activities better. I had a look at a simulation program for my bite and it looks as if the top incisors will be pulled down towards the end of the invisalign treatment and I am hoping that this will mean I will only need lower surgery. In all seriousness, if the simulation is translated into reality I am going to be delighted with that alone. I am waiting on my next appointment in January to check this out. Don't push yourself too much though. Your body has had a huge whack so do give yourself time to recover. Rod > > > > Thanx, Irish. Guest guest
Connie, You'll love this...I went to work yesterday and although I had the scores and the time clocks from the games on my computers, the game wasn't being broadcast on television...so guess what I did? No, guess again. LOL! I watched " Ghost " ...you know, the movie with Swayze. Demi and Whoopi Goldberg!?! (I can watch that movie every day.)...and got paid for it. :-) Smooches Smooches ... > > > > > > Hi Smooches/etta, > > > > I just wanted to say that I ~finally~ took a new look at some pix > on > > Site 2. Guest guest
Rod, It depends on where you are in the states...in some parts of the east coast (but only about 50% as compared to the 90% drop where you are), the IT market is way down also, but in some places on the west coast is seems to be rising. Hope your outcome is as well as you've seen in the simulation or better.
