Guest guest
congrats on your approval tammy! lori h. > I have been so psyched all day. Yesterday the insurance letter came approving me for the surgery. Since it's Labor Day weekend I won't be able to call the doc's office tomorrow but it'll be the first call I make Tuesday morning. I am sooo excited right now. I actually didn't see the letter until this morning. My husband and I returned home late last night and he got the mail. When he walked in I asked " anything good? " Of course meaning - " Did the letter come? " But I guess he didn't pick up on my psychic message because he said " nope " . He didn't open the letter at the time. And of course I get that gut wrenching disappointment, because not only is the next day Sunday (no mail) but the following day is a holiday (so again, no mail). So this morning I'm the first one up and I'm flipping through the mail and there's a letter from the insurance company - I open it with shaking hands and search for the word approved....and there it way.....YEAH!!!! I ran upstairs (which I hope to be able to do without getting short of breath very soon) and woke up dear ole hubby by yelling " I'M APPROVED " . He's like " huh " . Then he's saying " wow, I didn't realize it would come from them, I thought you'ld get something from the dr's office " . So that now explains why he didn't realize what exactly it was that he was holding. Looking at the whole situation as a blessing in disguise I realize that if I had read that at midnight last night I would not have slept all night. > > I love reading all the posts every day and hope to be able to report more good news of a quick surgery date on Tuesday evening. > > Tammy > Pre-op 257 > > > >

Guest guest
Thanks Lori, I called the dr's office first thing Tuesday and I've had to call back every day since then. The secretary said that they are extremely busy and she has several people to get scheduled. She was supposed to get back with me by late this afternoon but never did. I thought for sure I'ld have a date for surgery when I initially called on Tuesday. She and I are at the point now that I think I'm starting to irritate her and it irks me because I get the feeling that she's controlling my options here with a date. I definitely got the message today that " SHE will call ME " and I'm not to call back. My frustration level is high. Oh well, I just try to stay calm and realize that it'll happen. Thanks for letting me vent. Tammy preop 257 Re: The Wait Is Over!! > congrats on your approval tammy! > lori h. > > > > I have been so psyched all day. Guest guest
Jill, You're right, it's a great feeling to know that there's progression on this long road to surgery. I'll be looking forward to hearing how your surgery was towards the end of October. Do you know if you're having Lap or Open? I'm assuming you're having RNY? I know there's still people in the group waiting to hear from their insurance companies so I feel we're among the fortunate ones right now to have our dates.
