Guest guest
I heard that under some circumstances surgery can be performed for an overbite without the need for the person to wear braces first? Has anyone experienced this or knows if its true? Thanks Kate :-) (UK)
Guest guest
It has happened a few times that I know of. I think it's most unusual. I also think they had to use something called " arch bars, " which for my money sounded worse than the braces. Ask lots of questions, and do an archives search on " arch bars " if you wanna read about them. Often it is important that the ortho be able to give the surgeon a bite that is actually worse than the starting (or finishing, thank heavens!) one to get the necessary correction.
